About Us
Our Story
Wedding Forest began long before its name existed. Back in 2016, we started as an Etsy shop called Stringybark Supplies, creating wood slice products made from salvaged, non-native pine trees.
It didn’t take long to realise that these humble slices of timber made incredible wedding invitations and favours—especially once we began printing personalised designs with vibrant colour and crisp detail.
As demand grew, so did our commitment to quality. By 2024, we had served over 10,000 customers and crafted personalised pieces for more than 1,500 couples. With so many brides and grooms choosing our natural, handcrafted products, the wedding side of the business deserved its own identity—so Wedding Forest was born.
In our first year alone, Wedding Forest served over 400 couples and earned an outstanding average review score of 4.96/5. Today, we continue to create unique, meaningful wedding stationery and décor from our workshop in the Yarra Valley.

Where Our Timber Comes From
All of our wood slices are made from non-native, invasive pine (mostly radiata) that grows on a large private property in Victoria. With the owner’s permission, we harvest responsibly—removing trees that crowd out native vegetation.
We are often asked if we replant native trees, but there’s no need - once the pines are removed and their dense shade is gone, native plants spring back almost instantly, thriving in the rejuvenated environment!
How We Make Our Products
1. Harvesting & Log Preparation
We personally harvest the logs each month and transport them back to our factory, where the process begins.
2. Precision Slicing
Logs are cut into discs using a combination of traditional saws and a purpose-built automated slicing machine designed specifically for wood slices.
3. Drying the Timber
The slices are air-dried with the help of an industrial dehumidifier to prevent warping and splitting.
4. Sanding
Once dry, each piece is sanded smooth using a wide-belt sander (which weighs as much as a small car). This ensures a clean, beautiful finish.
5. Printing
Our ArtisJet UV flatbed printer brings each piece to life, combining Lucy’s artwork, your personalised details, and the natural grain of the wood. It’s not the fastest machine, but it delivers exceptional precision and the vibrant, crisp quality our couples love.
6. Packing & Dispatch
Every order is packed with care in-house. We have multiple parcel pickups each week to ensure fast delivery Australia-wide.

As a working factory with saws, machinery and production equipment, visits are by appointment only.
