About Us

How Wedding Forest came to be...

Wedding Forest's roots extend back to 2016 as an Etsy store (and later, website) called Stringybark Supplies that created wood slice products made from salvaged trees.  It soon became clear that wood slices made for incredible wedding favour coasters and invites, especially when personalised with vibrant colour print.

By 2024, after serving over 10,000 customers and completing personalised orders for more than 1,500 couples, it was time for the wedding side of the business to grow independently, and so, Wedding Forest was born.

Heidy - Super staff

When not tending her chickens (she's a chicken farmer by day), Heidy is keeping our wood slice stores stocked and making sure your orders are packed and sent out on schedule (or usually before hand).

Where we source our timber

We harvest non-native, invasive trees (mostly radiata pine) that are growing on a large private property in Victoria. With permission from the owner, we come in approximately once a month and harvest a trailer load of pine trees.  After clearing out the trees, we keep the weeds down with each successive trip.

We are often asked if we replant native trees, but there’s no need - once the pines are removed and their dense shade is gone, native plants spring back almost instantly, thriving in the rejuvenated environment!

Where are we located?

We make our products in our factory at 4/21 Britannia Creek Road in Wesburn, Victoria.  As we're a working factory with saws and automated machinery we are not open for visits except by appointment.  If you would like to see our products and get a feel for the wood before purchasing, we recommend our sample packs which are available here.

How are the products made?

Once we have transported the logs back to our factory we have a few saws including the purpose built automated wood slicing saw to help cut them into slices.

We then air dry the wood slices with the help of an industrial dehumidifier.

Once fully dry we sand the slices with a wide belt sander (that weighs as much as a small car) ensuring our wood slices are nice and smooth and suitable for printing on.

Our printer is the heart of our operation, seamlessly uniting Lucy's stunning designs, your personalized details, and our carefully crafted wood slices to create truly one-of-a-kind products. Our Artisjet UV flatbed printer is a powerhouse, almost as heavy as our entire team combined!  While not the fastest printer in the world, it more than compensates with exceptional precision, vibrant quality, and an undeniable 'wow factor' that our customers rave about.

We pack all our products with care in house and have a few parcel picks ups per week to ensure your order arrives as soon as possible!
